I went to the "baby doctor" last Thursday for a check up and ultrasound. I took the kids the past two visits and they behaved well so I decided to take them again. They were excited to see their baby brother with the special camera. The same ultrasound technician has been there, well, since I got pregnant with Hannah. I told them Julie (the ultrasound tech) was the first person to see them when they were in my tummy. She was super kid friendly. She made a big happy face with the ultrasound gel on my giant tummy, the kids enjoyed that. We saw his femur (my poor children know way too much about the human body than other children their age) and heart. Hannah counted the chambers. Julie gave them stickers at the end.
By the time we got into the exam room the kids were done. Then I got the bad news, I had to do my GBS (Group Beta Strept) test. Then the questions started coming....
Hannah: "Mommy, why are you wearing a big paper towel skirt?"
Gavin: "I can see your butt!"
Hannah: "Is the doctor going to see your butt?"
I didn't know what to say so I just tried to change the subject. The kids left the room during my exam, thankfully the Medical Assistant watched them. I heard them running up and down the hall laughing the whole time. It wasn't too awful, but it did suck! We survived.
So at 36 weeks, Baby Boy Jones was estimated at 7 lbs. 2 oz. I was dilated 1 1/2 cm. My doctor thinks I won't make it until 39 weeks, but this baby still has at least 2 more pounds to gain. We'll see...

Oh man, he's gonna be a BIG baby! I was 3 weeks early with Koa and he was 7lbs 8oz. He would have been HUGE if he was full term. Good luck! I still have a gift for Gavin and baby! I missed you at Leslies shower!
Wow!!! Well I hope you do go early...maybe he will be a bit smaller if you do! I saw the doctor today, and they didn't tell me exactly how big my girl is, but he did say she was around 6 pounds. So exciting! I can't wait to be comfortable again!
got to love inquizative kids. My boys were disneyland doing the trick o treating in the drawing maze. Linden walks in the room and says we are in the belly ten he looks to the door and goes mom I can see the uvula. we hadn't talk about that in two years. At least we know we are smart enough to start them young :)
I think that is great that your kids know about the human body...counting the chambers of the heart, that's amazing!
I can't wait to meet the newest Jones boy.
So it's still Baby Boy Jones? No name yet?
And good luck with the delivery! I'm excited to meet him in April!
His name is Oscar Picard Jones
